Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. She was born on the southern part of London Council Estate and was a student at The Brit School aged 14. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was earned. The stage she appeared in was several productions as a student such as the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she was cast as Elisha in The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured for six seasons Trexx and Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She appeared in two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe was the main character in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe debuted in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama show was telecast at The CW for only two episodes before being ended. In February of 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who had played a regular role in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series following a guest appearance in the first episode of the season's new episode. She was Tituba on the television series Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe and her partner for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wedding in June of 2012. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played in the summer months and play hockey during winter. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so when she was just two years old, she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley was captivated by dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley was a competitor in ballet, tap and jazz in the high divisions. She won the top soloist at each of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
