Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural household. She was born in South London. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She was born on the south London council estate, as a teenager, she 14she enrolled in The Brit School. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was obtained. She was on stage in numerous productions during her time at school such as the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe landed her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she was cast as Elisha in The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured on six of the episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she landed the part of Bambi on the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in episodes two and three. Madekwe also starred as the lead character in How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the year 2008. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe officially made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was eventually ended. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Madekwe was a regular on the ABC drama series Revenge during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she'd leave the series after making an appearance in the first episode of season three. Between 2014 and 2016she appeared in Salem on the CW as Tituba. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg on June 2012. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he has also appeared alongside Madekwe on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who are all athletes, play baseball in summers and played hockey in winters. Ashley could not walk but was able to dance. This led to the fact that as she grew older She discovered Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's passion for dance. Until she graduated from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Ashley was awarded the best individualist in all the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
