Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically mixed family. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss, while the mother of her is English. She was raised on a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While at school she appeared in a variety of stage productions like King Henry V's princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her career as an actor through the film Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances as a guest in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Then, she was the lead in Elisha on the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie for six episodes from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe made an appearance in the Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes on The CW before being cancelled. In February of 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. After a period of two years as the main character she was a guest in the opening episode of season 3. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were wedding in June of 2012. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty as well as four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball fields because her brothers, who were all athletic, played baseball, hockey, as well as both during winter and summer. Ashley could not walk but could dance. In the end, as she grew older when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. Until she graduated from High School, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just a few.
