Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to a family in South London. She's English but her father is Nigerian. She was born and raised in a council estate located south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art was where she received a BA degree in acting. The stage she appeared in was numerous productions during her time at school like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film is the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The following year, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. In 2008, she got Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe played the lead role on How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy released in the year 2008. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009, with the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being cancelled on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who been a series regular in the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the first episode of the new season. In the TV series Salem, she played Tituba in 2014 through the year 2016. From June to July 2012, she got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared with each other on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had part in the show with her. that show.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her four older brothers were present as well and included twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter and summer months. They grew up playing stadiums and played baseball. Ashley had never been able to actually walk. She would dance. When she reached just 2 1/2 years old and a half, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley was enthralled by dance after this. Ashley participated in the top divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe until she graduated from high school. She was crowned the top individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
