Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically diverse family. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mom is English. She was raised on a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an BA in acting. While attending the academy, she appeared in several performances on stage, such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. The following year, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character on ITV2's show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe played the lead role in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy released in 2008. A couple of her credits on stage are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in ABC's Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for 2 weeks at The CW and then it ended. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. Madekwe appeared in all episodes of the show's second season as a regular. In May of 2013, it was announced that news broke that Madekwe will quit the show due to her appearance as a guest on the first episode of the series' third season. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents Roy and Patty and the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's athletic brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey during winters. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so at the age of just two years old, she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. Until she graduated from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. The major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top Soloist".
