Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multicultural family. Born in South London. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss as well as the mother of her is English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe landed her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success her role was Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, she had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi in The ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in episodes two and three. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before it was removed from The CW. The actress was selected in February 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After appearing on the show for the first two seasons it was reported in late May 2013 that she would depart the series following a guest appearance in the first episode in the season's third. On the show Salem, she played Tituba between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe got married to her long-time partner, Iddo. They worked together in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was raised in a big family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. The four brothers of Ashley, all very athletic, played hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley had never been able to actually walk. She danced. At just 2 1/2 years old when she was a little older, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley became passionate about dance immediately after that. Ashley competed in ballet, tap and jazz in the high divisions. In addition, she won best soloist awards at all important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
