Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multi-cultural family. Born within South London. Her father is Nigerian as well as Swiss and the mother of her is English. She attended The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She graduated with a BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared on stage in many productions while attending school including King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Then, she was the lead in Elisha, a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie in the six episodes from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008, she had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in series two and three. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She was also on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was later removed from the air. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she was a guest in the opening episode of season three. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star in the role of Tituba the television series Salem. Madekwe married her long-time partner, Iddo. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. She was raised by the parents Roy and Patty along with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's siblings, who are all athletic, played baseball in summers and played hockey during winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but was able to dance. As a result, at the age of 2 She discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. When she was in High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip-hop. Every big dance events, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the distinction of "top soloist".
